Le Grand Noir

From a country renowned for its wine-making tradition, Le Grand Noir wines offer untraditional blends from traditional French varietals.  These unconventional winemakers wanted to create a wine that brought together the classic, complex, food-friendly, flavours of France with the accessibility of the New World.

Le Grand Noir is the result of a successful partnership between three influential and dedicated gentleman who made their mark on the wine industry in the fields of journalism, wine-tasting and design.  The wines are produced by extremely dedicated teams of vignerons (wine growers) and wine makers at the Jean d’Alibert Winery at Rieux-Minervois, close to the walled city of Carcassonne.

Le Grand Noir belongs to a dynamic international organisation R-Wines.

R-Wines is owned by Mr Hugh Ryman and produces branded wines from the most famous wine regions in France, Spain and around the world.  Mr Ryman’s pursuit of winemaking is driven by a desire to provide the consumer with an approachable taste and design of wine that will surprise, delight and impress.
