Château du Chatelard

Set in the beautiful Beaujolais countryside, Chateau du Chatelard covers 28 hectares of vines and produces wines that are being recognised as amongst the best from the region. The chateau itself dates from the 18th century, on the ruins of a 12th century structure, long ago destroyed by fire.  The Chatelard team is small but dedicated and is led by winemaker and manager Aurélie Vermont, herself a second-generation Beaujolais winemaker.

“Chatelard’s philosophy is all about getting the excellence of terroirs by playing with the quality of our soils, nature and the delicate art of winemaking. The result is a discerning balance between freshness, elegance and complexity of the gamay and chardonnay grapes.  We want to bring wines of Beaujolais to the fore through the harmony and the aromatic richness of our cuvees.”
